Two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United States of America President Donald Trump came together for the mega, 'Howdy, Modi!' event in Houston, the leaders held bilateral talks along with a delegation from both the countries on September 24, Tuesday at the United Nations HQ in New York. This is the third bilateral meet between both the leaders this year.

After the bilateral talks between Modi and Trump, PM Modi said that the understanding and the bond between both the countries was really strong and that it is a very good sign for the idea of democracy: "The understanding, the closeness and continuous engagement between the world's largest democracy and the world's oldest democracy is a very good sign everyone who believes in the very idea of democracy"
When asked about any potential trade deal signed between India and the US, Trump hinted on signing of a trade deal very soon: "Very soon we'll have a trade deal. We'll have a larger deal down the road but very soon we'll have a deal."
When the US President was questioned about Pakistan being the epicentre of terrorism and his plan to counter it: "If you look at terrorist states, Iran has to be on the top off the list but I really believe that these two gentlemen PM Modi and PM Khan will get along and when they get along a lot of good things will come from that meeting."

Trump's chemistry with PM Modi
President Trump also cited that he has a very good personal chemistry with PM Modi and also stated that he is a great leader. He also called PM Modi as the 'Father of India' :

US President Trump also expressed delight over the mega Houston event and said that PM Modi is like Elvis Presley: "Those people (in Houston) really love him. It was like Elvis. He is like an American version of Elvis Presley"
