Terrorists opened fire at a shopkeeper in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on November 13, Wednesday afternoon, while he was at his garment shop at Main Market Tral in the area. The injured, identified as Mehrajudin, who was rushed to the hospital after being injured, succumbed to the injuries.
According to sources, Mehrajudin was fired at by a point-blank range. This incident comes after countless other traders and businessmen have been targeted in the area. Other similar cases have happened before
This is, however, not the first case of a civilian attack. A few weeks ago a non-local civilian was shot dead by terrorists in broad daylight in Pulwama district. It had come to light that the victim suffered bullet injuries, making it the second incident occurring within two days. As per PTI reports, the victim was a migrant labourer from Chhattisgarh. Police sources had also suggested that he was shot dead by terrorists in the terror hotbed of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.
In another similar incident, on October 14, two terrorists had shot dead a truck driver ferrying apples from Rajasthan. Along with him, the terrorists had also physically attacked an orchard owner in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, November 11. The police had later hinted that there were suspicions regarding the nationality of the terrorists and the police force reportedly had reason to believe that they were Pakistani nationals.
Just two weeks ago, Pakistan had opened ceasefire and yet again attacked civilians in the Drangiyari Tregam sector of Kupwara. The four civilians who were killed in the incident were later identified as Nusrat 22 years old, Zaheena Fatima 15 years old, Gulshan 32 years old and Gazi Shahi 25 years old.
