In the wake of the controversial statement made by Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi saying that Pak PM Imran Khan 'bowled a google at India by opening the Kartarpur corridor', Union Cabinet Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has urged Imran Khan to take actions against the Foreign Minister for hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community.

Taking it to Twitter on Sunday, Harsimrat Kaur Badal wrote to state that Shah Mahmood Qureshi has hurt the sentiments of Sikhs by equating Kartarpur Corridor opening with 'trapping India by bowling a googly'.

Calling the statement 'disgusting', she went onto urge Pakistan PM Imran Khan to take actions against the Foreign Minister.

Earlier on November 30, Pakistan Foreign Minister had made the 'googly' remark at a ceremony that took place in Islamabad to observe the 100-day performance of the Imran Khan-led Pakistani government.

"Bowling a googly" in cricketing terms means making a deceptive delivery to put the batsman in a difficult position.

On Saturday, MEA Sushma Swaraj also tweeted to express discontent over her Pakistan counterpart's 'googly' remark on the Kartarpur Corridor opening. Stating that this has exposed him, she further wrote that 'Qureshi has no respect for Sikh sentiments and that he only plays googlies'.

The Ministry of External Affairs had sent Harsimrat Kaur Badal, the Minister for Food Processing Industries, and Hardeep Singh Puri, the Minister of State (MoS) for Housing and Urban Affairs, as India's representatives to the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor in Pakistan on November 28, while MEA Sushma Swaraj had to decline the invitation due to prior election commitments in Telangana.
