BJP MP and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir on Saturday thanked External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for granting visa to a Pakistani girl Omaima Ali and her parents for the child's heart surgery. Gautam Gambhir tweeted the letter on his account with a poem about how kindness opens all boundaries. He also posted the picture of the letter in his tweet.

Along with those tiny steps, a sweet breeze has flowed, sometimes it seems as if the daughter has come home," read Gambhir's tweet. Gambhir also expressed his gratitude to the EAM, PM Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah for granting Omaima Ali her visa to travel to India for her surgery.

Philippines infants undergo liver transplant in India
Many from developing and developed countries travel to India for medical purposes owing to relatively cheaper healthcare in India. Earlier on Saturday, President Ram Nath Kovind attended the interacted with the parents of the infants in the Philippines who successfully underwent liver transplant in India. The Philippine Star newspaper had reported in August that issues such as unavailability of highly specialised medical equipment, lack of training for liver transplantation medical personnel and expensive medicines are some of the factors leading to the high cost of the treatment in the country.
EAM Jaishankar on India's ties
In an obvious reference to Pakistan, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday while speaking at the World Economic Forum said India's entire neighbourhood "minus one" has been a "fairly good story" for regional cooperation. The abrogation of Article 370 provisions did come up for discussion in his meetings during the recent US visit, Jaishankar added at a session of the India Economic Summit. "That is natural for many people when there is a change of status...," he said during a conversation with World Economic Forum president Borge Brende.
