Shalabh Kumar from the Republican Hindu Coalition in the USA said that President Trump's meeting PM Modi was an indication of America’s stand on Kashmir. He also added that protest against Kashmir’s communication blockade, which is to be held outside the NRG stadium during Howdy Modi is highly condemned by them. The Indian-American has also described PM Modi’s visit to America as a “historic” event. Moreover, they also said that PM Modi’s visit increases the 'respect' of the Indian-American community in the USA.   

Republican Hindu Coalition statement 

Shalabh Kumar from the Republican Hindu Coalition said that the US president joining Modi on stage in Houston "is a very clear indication of where the Trump Administration stands when it comes to Pakistan". Stating that Pakistan was planning to hold a protest against Modi in front of the NRG Stadium on the Kashmir issue, Kumar claimed that it had been quashed to a great extent. A few Indian Americans also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump jointly addressing the "Howdy Modi" event here in the energy capital of the world is "historic" and a direct endorsement of India's Kashmir policy by the United States. Rakesh Mangal, former president of the Indian American Doctors' Association, Houston, said Trump attending the "Howdy Modi" event says how important India is to the entire world, especially to the US.

Howdy Modi!   

The Houston event will be Modi's third major address to the Indian-American community after he became the Prime Minister in 2014 and the first after his re-election in May. The previous two were at the Madison Square Garden in New York in 2014 and the Silicon Valley in 2016. The 'Howdy, Modi!' event is being organised by the non-profit Texas India Forum, a recently formed representative body of hundreds of Indian American organisations in Texas and other parts of the US. Also, a 90-minute cultural program titled, “Woven: The Indian-American Story”, is going to be performed at the event celebrating the contributions of Indian-Americans to the cultural, intellectual, and social landscape of the United States. The program will start at 10:00 am preceding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address.
