As per sources, the BAT attempt was made on the intervening night of July 31 and August 1. The BAT generally comprises special forces personnel of the Pakistani Army and terrorists. As per the defence spokesperson, Pakistan has made multiple attempts in the last 36 hours to disrupt the Amarnath Yatra and disturb peace in the Valley. Several terrorists have also been killed in the past few days in the Valley by the Indian Army, including Zeenat ul Islam, Umar Wani and Khalid Bhai.

In the statement issued on Saturday in the matter, it was also stated that the forces had recovered cache of sniper rifle, IED and mine with Pakistan markings.
