A major mishap was avoided on Tuesday August 13, when a Indigo pilot detected a technical snag in his flight. The flight returned to Nagpur airport from the runway and passengers were deplaned safely. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was among the passengers boarding the flight. However, all the passengers were deplaned successfully and none of the passengers were hurt.
On Monday, as the snag in the Indigo flight number was detected, steps were taken to deplane each and every passenger safely including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Issuing the statement, the Airports Authority also issued the following statement:
"IndiGo flight 6E 636 from Nagpur to Delhi returned to taxiway from runway at 7.30 am, after the aircraft detected serious error & pilot decided to abort the take-off. Passengers were de-boarded. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari was also on-board the flight."
Sources also informed that passengers are still waiting for the next flight arrangement. As soon as they boarded the flight and the pilot was checking the technicalities, he discovered a technical error and the flight was returned from the runway. No statement has been received from the Union Minister so far.
On August 4, a Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight carrying around 143 passengers had returned to the city airport, almost an hour after its departure, due to a technical glitch. More than 150 passengers of a Mumbai-bound IndiGo flight from the city survived a scare on Monday evening when the pilot aborted take-off at the last minute at the Raja Bhoj airport due to a technical glitch in the aircraft's wheels. Informing about the incident, an official said that the aircraft carrying 150 passengers was aborted from taking off at the eleventh hour due to technical glitch. Another IndiGo airline executive confirmed the incident and said that all the passengers were safe. The flight, 6E983, was about to take-off when suddenly the pilot stopped it using emergency brakes, a passenger said, requesting anonymity.
