International Yoga Day 2019: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performs Yoga in Delhi, urges citizens to make it an integral part of life

On the occasion of 5th International Yoga Day 2019 on Friday, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performed Yoga at the Rajpath, New Delhi.
Taking to Twitter, he urged the citizens to make Yoga an integral part of their lives.
Events to mark the day were held across the country and several of them are being led by Union ministers, including Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkari.
Besides Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari performed led the Yoga Day celebrations in his Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra's Nagpur.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion on International Yoga Day in Ranchi, Jharkhand, PM Modi said that peace and harmony have always been associated with Yoga, which can heal several challenges the world faces.
"Today when the world is accepting Yoga, we also have to further research on Yoga, we have to unite Yoga with fields of medicine, physiotherapy, artificial intelligence," PM Modi added.
The International Day of Yoga is being celebrated across the world annually on June 21, since 2015.
Expressing concern that young people are becoming vulnerable to heart ailments, Prime Minister Modi said, "Yoga can play a huge role in tackling the issue and hence, this year's theme is 'Yoga for Heart'."
