ISRO's cartoon about Vikram separating from Chandrayaan-2 is adorable

ISRO has tweeted out a cartoon strip about the Vikram lander and the Chandrayaan-2. After Vikram's soft landing, Pragyan will explore the south pole of the moon

ISRO has Tweeted out a cartoon strip that details the expedition of the Vikram Lander and the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter. The Vikram lander is poised to land on the Moon, and the Pragyan rover will disembark from it and drive around on the Moon. The cartoon strip shows their separation and the interaction between the two.

India awaits Vikram Lander's soft-land

Chandrayaan 2's 'Vikram Lander' to soft-land on the south pole of the Moon on September 7, something which has never been done before, and is a global first.

After the Vikram's soft-landing, the Pragyan rover will disembark from it. Pragyan, which translates to wisdom in Sanskrit, is the ultimate component of Chandrayaan 2's mission. Pragyan is set roam the south pole on the lunar surface and explore it. It will test for the possibility of the presence of water. Pragyan will also study variations in lunar surface composition and to trace back the moon's origins.

Chandrayaan-2 lifted off on July 22

Chandrayaan-2's rocket lifted off at the scheduled time of 2:43 PM on July 22. The average distance between the Earth and the Moon is 3,84,000 km.

The Vikram lander will land on Moon on the 48th day of the mission on September 7. This moon-lander and rover mission proves that India is taking lead in space exploration as its mission aims to investigate the unexplored south pole of the moon. With Chandrayaan-2 India aims at the soft landing on the Moon. If successful, it will be the fourth country after the US, Russia, and China to do so.
