The Jharkhand government on Tuesday reimposed the ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI), months after the state's High Court revoked the ban on the organization and rapped the state government for not following due procedures while banning them.

Republic TV has accessed the official order letter of the Jharkhand government, in which they have stated that the outfit had been conducting radical activities in the state. Government sources have mentioned that this time around, they has followed all the necessary procedures before banning the organisation.

Further, it is also reported that the government, in its order, has mentioned the details concerning how the outfit was trying to disturb the society and how their activities have become rampant.

According to the Jharkhand government, the PFI has links with other terrorist organizations and are trying to radicalize the people in the state through their ideology, which is inspired by the Islamic State (ISIS).

Speaking on this massive development, BJP leader Vinay Singh welcomed the move and showed confidence that Jharkhand government's ban will not be revoked this time around.

"PFI has been banned again. 3-4 months ago (in August) PFI went to court. The High Court (Jharkhand) said that the procedure was not duly followed. So this time around, the Jharkhand government has followed due procedures and banned them again....In Jharkhand, there were four districts where their activities were in large. PFI has connection with the PM assasination plot," he said.

In February of 2018, Raghubar Das' government had declared PFI as unlwaful and banned the outfit. But a few months later, the Jharkhand HC revoked state government's decision to ban the PFI. The court slammed the state government of not going ahead with the norms and revoked its February decision to ban the outfit.
