JNU that was once rocked with alleged slogans for Kashmir freedom will now have a seminar on abrogation of Article 370. On 9th February 2016, during a protest on the third anniversary of capital punishment given to parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and Kashmiri separatist Maqbool Bhat, some students  of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) allegedly raised slogans for the freedom of Kashmir and now tomorrow in the same University an event on "Abrogation of article 370: peace, stability, and development of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladhak" has been organised in convention center where MoS PMO and BJP MP from Jammu's Udhampur Dr. Jitender Singh will be the chief guest.

While giving a quote exclusively to Republic TV on the talk show on abrogation of Article 370, Vice-Chancellor of JNU Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar said "The abrogation of the two provisions in the Constitution of India, Article 370 and Article 35-A, which had provided a special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir, is a momentous decision in the history of independent India. This region is culturally, geographically as well as strategically an important part of our country.  With the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A, we all hope that the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions will find their place in the Indian development story."

On 18th September 2019, while listening to the arguments on JNU sedition case Patiala house court asked Delhi Govt to decide within one month on the sanction to prosecute former JNU students union president Kahaniya Kumar and others. This after Delhi Police informed the court about the delay being done by AAP Govt in Delhi. The next date of hearing in sedition case is October 25 by which the reports will have to be filed.

Talk show on abrogation of article 370 in JNU has been wholeheartedly welcomed by ABVP where it said that it's new JNU where students are aware of the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation.

He said, "It's the same JNU where on 9th February 2016 anti-national slogans were raised and the break-up of the nation was advocated by few people. Due to some students and professors, our JNU had to face a lot of embarrassment. Some had raised slogans for the freedom of Kashmir also. This incident had shocked many students which led to massive protests against anti-social elements and members of the "Tukde-Tukde" gang."

"Today it's new JNU where students' unions are more aware and concerned about unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation. People across the country celebrated abrogation of article 370 in which JNU also participated. In this same JNU MoS PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh is coming. We are really excited to hear him the kind of challenges faced by the ruling nationalist govt moreover what is the vision and roadmap for the development of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladhak does the Government have" said JNU ABVP member Saurabh Sharma
