Kamlesh Tiwari's wife Kiran Tiwari succeeds him as party president
The office-bearers of the Hindu Samaj Party have chosen Kiran Tiwari, the wife of deceased party founder Kamlesh Tiwari as the new president of the party.
The office-bearers of the Hindu Samaj Party have chosen Kiran Tiwari, the wife of party founder Kamlesh Tiwari as the new party president. A senior party official Rajesh Tripathi stated that she would officially assume charge at the party office in Lucknow on Saturday. Thereafter, they will address the media at the Lucknow Press Club from 2 pm to 4 pm. Kamlesh Tiwari was shot on October 18 at the Naka area in Lucknow.
UP CM assures Tiwari's wife
Kamlesh's wife Kiran, along with other family members had met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on October 20 to demand justice. She demanded capital punishment for the murderers of her husband. Kiran Tiwari revealed that Adityanath had assured them of serious action in the case.
Gujarat ATS arrests the main suspects
Earlier, in the week, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested the two main suspects in the Kamlesh Tiwari murder case. They were the persons seen wearing saffron clothes in the CCTV coverage following the killing of Tiwari. According to the Gujarat ATS, one of the accused justified the murder. DIG Himanshu Shukla, ACP BP Rojiya, ACP BH Chavda of Gujarat ATS were part of the team which arrested the suspects from the Gujarat-Rajasthan border.
Tiwari's murder
Tiwari was formerly a leader of the Hindu Mahasabha. Though he was immediately rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly. While the assailant managed to flee the spot, a revolver was also recovered from the site of the crime. The police indicated that the accused spent around 30 minutes with him on the pretext of gifting him sweets. As per the post-mortem reports, Tiwari was stabbed 15 times and he was shot once in his head. Furthermore, two deep cuts were found on his neck.
