Desperate terrorists burn Apple truck amid trade being targeted in J&K
In a continuance of atrocities by Pakistan sponsored terrorists, a fruit truck carrying apples was attacked on Thursday in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir
In continuance of their desperate efforts to prevent normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists carried on targeting the famous Kashmir apple trade, this time setting ablaze a truck loaded with apples outside the Sopore fruit mandi. Timely intervention of police and locals saved half of the struck fruits, though around 30-40 boxes of apple were still burnt. The truck suffered minor damage as well.
his is not the first time such attacks have taken place in the valley. Earlier, a truck driver Sharif Khan with Rajasthan registration that was ferrying apples was shot dead by terrorists on October 16. Two non-locals were also shot on Wednesday evening in Trenz village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district. It was reported to news agencies, that the terrorist tried to set ablaze the fruit truck outside the fruit mandi in Sopore.
Terrorist attacks truck driver
On Wednesday, a truck driver, Sharif Khan, was shot dead and the orchard owner was beaten up at Shirmal. One terrorist involved in the act is reported to be a Pakistani. the truck driver was in the village for apple loading. Sources in Jammu and Kashmir police say, “While it was largely peaceful, the incident in Shirmal is a reflection of what we have been saying for a while now. Pakistan has been desperately trying to spoil the law and order situation.”
According to J&K Police, as per the initial investigation, terrorist groups — JeM and HM — are behind the terrorist act which took place on Wednesday. Sources say that the villagers tried to save the civilian but the terrorists thrashed the villagers as well as killed the driver. An FIR has been registered under sections 151/2019 U/S 364, 342, 302, 307, 459, 435 RPC, 7/27 Arms Act, Sec 16, 18, 20 of ULA. The police maintain that the investigation is in progress. A search operation was carried out in the area to track down the terrorists.
