Prime Minister Narendra Modi pays intense attention to his fitness, and the government he leads have also stressed on its importance. Apart from PM Modi taking Yoga on an international platform, which resulted in the International Day of Yoga coming into effect, his ministers have also followed the same ideology. In PM Modi’s first term in charge, Sports Minister Col Rajyavardhan Rathore had come with interesting intiatives that had got not just the celebrities but all citizens’ attention and involvement. Col Rathore’s successor Kiren Rijiju is also following in the footsteps of the Olympics Silver medallist, and is also coming with brilliant initiatives. The Union Minister, meanwhile, supported Government’s ‘Fit India’ movement by riding a bicycle in the capital. The interesting bit is that the bicycle he is riding is was given to him by Salman Khan, and the minister, praised it as ‘amazing.’
Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday shared pictures on Twitter, where he is riding the ‘Being Human’ bicycle, from Salman Khan’s company, in Delhi.
"#FitIndiaMovement with #BeingHuman cycles. Thanks @beingsalmankhan for contributing these amazing bicycles,” Minister Rijiju wrote on Twitter.
Both fitness freaks
This is not the first time that Kiren Riiju has spoken about Salman Khan. Last year, when he was the Minister of Minority Affairs, (he holds the portfolio even now), he had set off with the ‘Dabangg’ star for a bicycle trip in Arunachal Pradesh to promote a an adveture festival.
People of Arunachal Pradesh will be forever indebted to @BeingSalmanKhan for promoting the State as a destination for adventure tourism. People showered him all the love & affection at Menchuka today. pic.twitter.com/L9W8SIMLMb

Salman Khan himself is extremely fond of his bicycle rides, and is one of the few celebrities to take to the streets and grab all eyeballs.
Meanwhile, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju is currently gearing for the ‘Plogging Run’ initiative ahead of Gandhi Jayanti, related to the government’s ‘Fit India’ mission.
The initiative, a combination of fitness and cleanliness, requires people jogging to collect the garbage they see on their way.
"Plog in run or Plogging means you jog or run and collect the litters and plastics to keep yourself fit and society clean. It’s a combination of Swachh Bharat and Fit India movement both initiated by our Prime Minister. Now it is my duty as Sports Minister to take it forward and make it popular as a national movement," Kiren Rijiju told Republic TV in an exclusive interview.
