Pakistan backed terrorists have amped their targetted attacks on non-locals in Kashmir, in a bid to disturb the situation in the state. The fourth attack in Kashmir within two days comes amid the visit of European Union (EU) MPs visiting Srinagar to get a first-hand assessment of the situation. From a series of ceasefire violations to infiltration attempts, Pakistan has aided and abetted the activities of terrorist groups in the last few weeks. Civilians and laborers from other states are being targeted by terrorists.
On Tuesday, terrorists killed five non-local laborers and injured another in South Kashmir's Kulgam region, in a sixth attack on non-Kashmiris in the past two weeks. The rise in terror attacks comes amid the visit of European Union MPs in Kashmir. All the laborers were reportedly from Murshidabad, West Bengal. On Monday night, two truck drivers from Haryana and Jammu were targeted in Bijbihara, Anantnag where a police party was on patrol duty nearby. One of them, Narayan Dutt of Katra was shot at and the other one escaped to a nearby place.

Earlier on October 19, a non-local civilian was shot dead by terrorists in broad daylight, the victim, identified as Sethi Kumar Sagar was from Chhattisgarh and was working as a laborer in a brick kiln in South Kashmir’s Pulwama.
In a continuance of atrocities by Pakistan sponsored terrorists, two non-locals were shot in mid-October in Trenz village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district. The duo was identified as Charanjit Singh and Sanjiv Kumar, residents of the Fazilka area of Punjab. Charanjit was shot dead at the spot while Sanjiv was referred to Srinagar in critical condition.
On October 14, a truck driver, Sharif Khan from Rajasthan, was shot dead by Pakistan backed terrorists and the orchard owner was beaten up at Shirmal. One terrorist involved in the act is reported to be a Pakistani.
