Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the sportsmanship of US open finalist Daniil Medvedev and Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal as he addressed the nation in his third Mann Ki Baat episode of the second edition. Urging the youth of the nation to watch Daniil Medvedev's address after losing to Rafael Nadal in the finals of the 2019 US Open, PM Modi said that people across all age groups can learn from the humble address made by the Russian tennis star. Hailing the sportsmanship of both the players, PM Modi said that it was great to see the humility of winner Rafael Nadal and the sporty spirit of Daniil Medvedev in the same game. PM Modi returned to India after a week-long tour that included a visit to the US, bilateral talks and an important address at the UNGA.
PM Modi hails Medvedev and Nadal's sportsmanship
Talking to the nation on the All India Radio, PM Modi said that he too was a common man like the rest of the population and that he was also equally influenced by events around the world. PM Modi said that just like how the people of India learned about the prime minister's program from news channels or newspapers, he said that other events impacted and influenced his life just like how it did to the common man and that he was one among the people of India. PM Modi pointed out that there were much admiration and discussion about US Open runner-up Daniil Medvedev's speech which indicated his maturity and simplicity just two hours after losing to Rafael Nadal. PM Modi added that there was an equal onus on the runner-up's speech as much as Rafael Nadal's got and that social media went buzzing about it. PM Modi further said that any other player in that context would have been angry and low-spirited but Medvedev had managed to not only managed to bring smiles to everyone's faces with his words but had also displayed a true sense of sportsmanship, Here's what PM Modi had to say about young Daniil Medvedev:

PM Modi in the US
Prime Minister Modi has just completed his six-day US visit. He attended the mega Howdy Modi event on the first day and addressed 50,000 Indian Americans at the NRG Stadium in Houston. US President Donald Trump also made his appearance at the event. The very next day, on September 23, the Prime Minister addressed the UN Climate Summit at the UN headquarters in New York. On September 24, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Gandhi Solar park and spoke at a special program to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary. He also met US president for bilateral talks. He addressed the GBF on Wednesday and culminated the trip by addressing the UNGA on September 27.
