MASSIVE: Modi govt tells states to transfer funds in construction workers' accounts by DBT

In a major decision by the union government towards providing relief to India's informal sector amid the Coronavirus lockdown, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, MoS Ministry of Labour and Employment, has issued an advisory to all states & UTs to transfer funds in the account of construction workers through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mode from the cess fund collected by the Labour Welfare Boards.

The announcement comes minutes before the Finance Minister's press briefing.
