Anand Mahindra's Twitter timeline is a treasure trove of innovative ideas, inspirational stories, but most importantly humour, especially when one seems to need it the most.
As Mumbai and the surrounding areas suffered through disrupted public transport, waterlogging and many others issues thanks to poor planning in the city with respect to heavy rains, it seemed the Mahindra Group Chairman knew how to lighten the spirits through humour.
The business tycoon whose primary interest lies in automobile designs took a sarcastic and funny view of how the city can function when rains cause havoc to its transportation lines.
Tweeting a picture of a man traversing through the floods using a barge and a pole Mahindra commented saying that in the future only this simplistic mode of transport can be used to commute owing to the rains. "Forget about conventional cars, e-bikes, e-cars and autonomous cars. With the monsoon deluge in Mumbai the last few days, this may be the only form of ‘future mobility!’ Have a good weekend..."
India's financial capital Mumbai has been witnessing incessant rains from July 26 and the heavy downpour has continued to Saturday as well. Several trains have either been delayed or cancelled. Several flights arriving and departing from Mumbai are facing a similar fate.
The Mumbai Police has taken to its Twitter handle to request the citizens to not venture in waterlogged areas and maintain distance from the sea.
