Mysuru Bishop KA William who has been accused of sexual misconduct and misappropriation of funds on Thursday called that the allegations baseless. He also said that he is willing to face an investigation from the police. "The allegations are baseless, I have not misused money. Also, the allegation by the lady is nothing but baseless. I am ready to face them legally and I am ready for investigation," said William.

Allegations against Bishop KA William, other priests

Several Priests have leveled serious allegations against William who is the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Mysore. The allegations are in connection with indulging in corruption and sexual misconduct. As per some media reports, the Association of Concerned Catholics (AOCC) also filed a complaint with the Mysuru Police on behalf of a video accused Williams and another priest Leslie Morris of sexual misconduct.

Allegations against Bishop Williams & Morris

As per reports, the woman had alleged that not only did Bishop Williams verbally abuse her and Morris also approached her for sex but Williams even sent men to follow her and threaten her that her family members would be endangered if she did not come with them. Once she went with them, Williams, Leslie Morris and Vijaykumar (another priest) threatened her saying that about her life and erased all the data from her phone.

Williams has blamed internal politics at diocese which led to the allegations. The police is probing the case. There has no FIR been filed by the police yet.

Bishop Mulakkal case: Priest gets bail, cop questioning him transferred

This incident comes after a week since sexual assault accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal received bail. The chargesheet against him was filed in the month of April 2019, seven months after his arrest he was released on October 15th itself on the court bail. Recently, a sub Inspector from Vaikom police station in Kerala was transferred days after he issued a notice to rape-accused priest Franco Mulakkal that why his bail shouldn't be cancelled as the rape survivor had said that she was being slandered on social media.

Charges against Bishop Franco Mulakkal 

He was charged with various sections including IPC 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), 376 (2) (K) (being in a position of control or dominance over a woman,commits rape on such woman),    376 (C) (I) (Sexual intercourse by a person in authority) 377/506 (1) (Carnal Intercourse against the order of nature with the victim without consent and criminally intimidated the victim by extending threats). The FIR was filed on June 2018 while he was arrested and questioned by the police on September 2018, the charge sheet was filed on April 2019 while the actual trail is going to begin from November 11, 2019.
