Pak violates ceasefire again, kills one and injures two in J&K
A woman died and two other civilians were injured in yet another ceasefire violation by Pak troops along the LoC in the Tangdhar sector of J&K, police said
A woman died and two other civilians were injured in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, police said. Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing, resulting in the death and injuries. Properties have also been damaged, police further said, adding that the Indian Army has effectively retaliated to the unprovoked aggression from the across the Line of Control. The woman who died in the firing has been identified as Hamida Fatima.
Pakistan continues to attack civilian areas
On Thursday, at least four civilians had been injured in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the Drangiyari Tregam sector of Kupwara as it continues to attack civilian areas. The four civilians have been identified as Nusrat 22 years old, Zaheena Fatima 15 years old, Gulshan 32 years old, and Gazi Shahi 25 years old. On October 23, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) posted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowshera sector was martyred after Pakistani troops resorted to yet another violation of ceasefire in an unprovoked attack using mortar shelling and small arms fire at various places along the Line of Control (LoC). According to sources, Pakistani troops initiated small arms fire in Mendhar and Balakote areas at around 11.30 am, followed by intense mortar shelling around 1.20 pm.
Pakistan continues to attack civilian areas and violates ceasefires in Kashmir. In another incident of ceasefire violation, the Pakistan troops resorted to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing on Indian forward posts and civilian areas in the border district of Poonch. Defence Spokesman on AIR said Pakistani troops started targeting forward posts and civilian areas in Balakot sector of Mendhar in Poonch district by firing small arms and shelling with mortars.
DGP Dilbagh Singh says measures have been taken
On October 18, the Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbagh Singh said that Pakistan-sponsored terrorists were involved in the killing of three civilians in Kashmir. He said all field commanders of Police, Army, and CAPF have been directed to work out extra security measures in consultation with the local fruit traders. He was chairing a meeting of Police and security force officers in South Kashmir’s Shopian District. He assured that measures have been taken to 'foil ill designs of the elements across the border who are continuously attempting to foment trouble in Jammu and Kashmir.'
