Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended support to the demands to improve the facilities at the Parliamentary complex.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended support to the demands to improve the facilities at the Parliamentary complex. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of North Avenue Duplex flats in Delhi, PM Modi said that the government is open to taking all necessary steps to ensure the improvement of facilities at the Parliamentary complex that it deserves.
He further asserted that when the nation will celebrate 75 years of Independence in 2022, the Parliamentary complex must showcase the grandeur that it deserves.
The Prime Minister inaugurated 36 duplex flats for the Members of Parliament at the North Avenue in Delhi. During the ceremony, PM Modi also spoke for Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu who expressed their views that the Parliament complex must get a facelift in terms of facilities. He informed that the Parliamentarians have also pitched in their ideas for upgrading the facilities at the iconic building.
Earlier, PM Modi inaugurated the new LED lighting at the Parliament House ahead of the Independence Day. BJP's top brass including Working President JP Nadda, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, United Ministers Babul Supriyo, Kiren Rijiju, Anurag Thakur, MPs Manoj Tiwari were among those present alongside the Prime Minister at the unveiling ceremony.
PM Modi had also taken to Twitter and pictures of the stunning lighting facility at the Parliament. As per reports, 875 lights have been placed at the Parliament facade for the revamp initiative.
These initiatives have been undertaken by the government in the wake of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla writing to PM Modi, requesting him to turn the Parliament into the biggest and the most beautiful in the world by 2022.
