PM Modi says 'imp that wealth creators be fit' as CII backs Fit India
PM Narendra Modi responded to Confederation of Indian Industry's appreciation tweet on the successful launch of 'Fit India Movement' on National Sports Day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reacted to a tweet posted by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) appreciating the efforts of newly launched Fit India Movement by the PM on National Sports Day, on August 29. His response mainly focused on the importance of fitness in the business world where the lives of people are always fast-paced and stressful. PM also mentioned in his tweet that the industrial bodies would be inspired by the Fit India initiative and also try to inculcate this culture of fitness in their daily working lives.
Fast paced lives and work stress in the business world need to be mitigated.

Confederation of Indian Industry on 'Fit India Movement'
On the launch of the Fit India Movement, the CII had tweeted calling Fit India as a national movement which plays an impactful and important part in every individual's life and also comparing it to the successful Khelo India youth games which had occurred earlier this year. The Director-General of CII, Chandrajit Banerjee also supported this movement by naming it as a great initiative by the Prime Minister and leverage to India's demographic dividend which would help increase the participation of the youth in the workforce for the jobs being created in the country.

The CII is a private body and a premier business association that partners with Indian industry, Central Government & civil society to create & sustain an environment conducive to the development of India. The CII was a part of the committee that was formed under the chairmanship of sports minister Kiren Rijiju to advise the government on Fit India Movement. Along with the CII, there were representatives from other private bodies involved in the committee such as Reliance Foundation, JSW Cement and JSW Paints, SE TransStadia Pvt. Ltd., Tata Trusts, ASSOCHAM India, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and actors Shilpa Shetty and Milind Soman were also involved.
Others too applauded Fit India Movement
Several celebrities and renowned athletes supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Fit India Movement' initiative. Shilpa Shetty, who is known for being a fitness junkie in and around Bollywood, recently urged fans and netizens to come forward and take part in Prime Minister's 'Fit India' movement. Badminton World Champion PV Sindhu who won her maiden gold for India at the BWF World Championship recently too urged people to take to fitness and follow a healthy lifestyle saying that fitness is crucial for everyone, one should spare at least some amount of time for fitness. Also, two-time Olympian Sushil Kumar and boxer and six-time world champion Mary Kom were seen supporting the initiative.
PM Modi's message: 'Awareness and health consciousness is the key'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about health consciousness and said that it is all about what the mind decides. Further sharing that if one has decided that they will not get tired and will not stop at any point, then the body functions in that manner. He also mentioned that the body takes time to get adapted to the entire routine but if health consciousness is evoked then a person keeps themselves away from everything that harms the body. The Prime Minister congratulated the winners of the national sports awards and lauded India's sporting achievements.
