PM Modi, the most popular Indian on Twitter, crosses massive milestone
PM Narendra Modi crosses 50 mn followers on Twitter; he is the only Indian to attain such huge reach, third after President Donald Trump and Barack Obama

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's growing popularity has hit 50 million followers on Twitter this week making him the only Indian politician to attain such huge reach on social media. He takes third place after US President Donald Trump with 64 million followers and former US President Barack Obama, who remains on the top spot with 108 million followers. However, for Instagram, PM Modi has taken the spot with 28 million, followed by Barack Obama with over 23 million followers. The PMO's official Twitter handle has also crossed over 30 million followers.
Congratulatory responses pour in
Minister of Railways and Commerce Piyush Goyal stepped in to congratulate PM Narendra Modi on this accomplishment. In his tweet, Goyal said that Modi's leadership has inspired people across the globe. He wrote -

Schemes and other developments
On Wednesday, PM Modi inaugurated several programmes and schemes in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. He launched the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for eradicating foot and mouth disease and brucellosis in livestock along with National Artificial Insemination Programme. Aiming to give a message to stop plastic usage and make India plastic-free by 2020, PM Modi met the ragpickers; he also shared hands with the women ragpickers.
His one day visit to UP also included flagging off Krishi Vigyan Kendras in all the 687 districts of the country on the topic of vaccination, disease management, artificial insemination and productivity and the 'Swachhta Hi Seva' ínitiative which is a larger part of 'Swachhh Bharat Abhiyan' programme.

PM Modi's schedule in Mathura also included the inauguration of 400 Ekalvya Model Residential Schools to provide quality upper primary, secondary, and senior secondary level education to ST Students in Tribal dominated areas, as per the PMO official Twitter account.
The PMO also mentioned that the Prime Minister plans to launch the Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana on the September 12 at Ranchi, Jharkhand. The particular scheme shall secure the lives of 5 crore Small and Marginal Farmers by providing a minimum pension of Rs 3,000 per month, to those who attain 60 years of age.
On September 6, the Modi government 2.0 completed 100 days since taking office, for which they released a report highlighting government's recent achievements.
