PM Narendra Modi will be having a power-packed and tight schedule on Tuesday, September 24 during his United States visit. Key highlights of PM Modi's US trip for Tuesday are his meeting with US President Donald Trump, commemorating Mahatma Gandhi's 150 birth anniversary, and being presented the Goalkeepers Global Goals Awards 2019 from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. On Monday, PM Modi made his way towards his engagement at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) after the electrifying 'Howdy, Modi!'. He also had six meetings with various world leaders in two hours and twenty-two minutes.

PM Modi's announcement at United Nation's Climate Action Summit

Meanwhile, at the United Nation's Climate Action Summit, PM Modi on Monday set a 450 GW target for India's renewable energy generating capacity. Stating that the protection of nature is a part of Indian tradition he said that it is also a part of India's future. Putting principles into action, he said that India plans to increase its capacity to 175 GW by 2022. He also highlighted India's motto 'Need not greed'. 

"This is my first speech on Climate. Behavioural change is needed with regards to climate change as an international effort. Protection of natural resources has been our (India) tradition and our future plan. Need not greed has been our motto.  An ounce of practice is worth a ton of preaching. Hence, India is not only talking but has come up with a road map. By 2022, we plan to take renewable energy capacity till 175 GW and aim to increase it till 450 GW," he said

India’s Ambassador & Permanent Representative to the United Nations Syed Akbaruddin on Monday took to Twitter and shared a very pleasant video of all the Delegates from the Climate Change summit. The video entailed the message 'Meetings happen, on the move too', which showed glimpses of behind the scenes meeting of the delegates. Top Global leaders were in New York on September 23, to attend the United Nations Climate Action Summit 2019 in the UN Headquarters. PM Modi, as per reports, had six meetings in two hours and twenty-two minutes.
