Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joins #SareeTwitter, shares throwback picture from her wedding day

Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh (East) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday joined the viral #SareeTwitter trend and shared a throwback picture from the day of her wedding. Taking to Twitter, Priyanka Vadra shared a picture of herself in a saree from a morning puja that took place on the day of her wedding with Robert Vadra, 22 years ago. In the picture, she can be seen donning a pink Benarasi saree.

Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra got married in February in a grand ceremony at 10 Janpath. Reportedly, she got married in a silk temple saree with a pink and red border, which is said to be a favourite of her grandmother and former PM Indira Gandhi.

In the viral #SareeTwitter trend, women are sharing pictures of their favourite saree moments and it has taken the internet by storm. As the trend went viral, women from all walks of life including politicians, renowned journalists and celebrities have taken to Twitter posting pictures in elegant sarees.

Newly-appointed Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also took to Twitter and shared her favourite pictures in which she can be seen donning beautiful sarees. 

BJP leader Nupur Sharma also took to Twitter and shared pictures of herself in saree over #SareeTwitter trend. 

Bollywood actress Gul Panag shared a picture in a bright blue saree. 

Veteran South Indian actress Nagma also posted picture in a yellow saree, saying that "Saree depicts our Indian tradition and culture".
