Megastar Rajinikanth spoke to the media on Sunday on the occasion of Diwali; in his statement the star expressed his concerns for the two-year-old Sujith Wilson who fell into a borewell on Friday.
'I also pray wholeheartedly for the safe return of Sujith'
"I extend my Diwali wishes to all. I also pray wholeheartedly for the safe return of Sujith who is stuck. Though various machines are trying to rescue him, I think precautionary measures should have been taken," he said.
Rajinikanth's daughter, Soundarya Rajnikanth, also expressed concern for the little boy on social media.

Two-year-old falls into borewell
The two-year-old boy, identified as Sujith Wilson, fell into a 25-feet deep borewell in Nadukattupati, Tamil Nadu's Tiruchirappalli district on Friday. Rescue teams rushed to the spot after receiving information and created a tunnel to reach Sujith. However, Sujith slipped deeper into the borewell to around the 70 feet mark during the rescue operations. Sujith fell while playing outside his house on Friday. The incident came to light when his parents noticed Sujith is not around and went looking for him. According to the latest reports, rescue operations further hit a setback unfortunately, the boy is now stuck at 90-feet down the borewell.
Rescue operations underway
Specialised teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) joined the rescue operations. State Health and Family Welfare Minister C Vijayabaskar, who has been camping at the site since Friday night, said that all efforts were on to save the child. Oxygen is being continuously supplied to the boy. According to officials, six teams were involved in the rescue operationsMeanwhile, the authorities have ordered that all open bore wells in the district be closed.
