Gully Boy actor Ranveer Singh is all set to portray the role of former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's '83. Reportedly, the actor had been prepping for the role for quite some time now. Earlier today, Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to post a still from the film where he looks at the ball after giving the well known "Nataraj" shot.

Ranveer Singh's likeness to the veteran actor is a massive talking point for Tinseltown as the resemblance is almost uncanny, when and the difference can only be spotted upon closer examination in the picture. Several celebrities commented on the post by lauding him for his appearance.

Unveiling the first look
On his birthday this year, Ranveer Singh shared a photo of his look in the Kabir Khan film through his Instagram handle. The anticipation for the film sent a frenzy among his fans as Ranveer is known for bringing credibility to the roles he has portrayed till now. The actor looked very much like The Haryana Hurricane in the photo that he had shared.

About the film
The film is based on the Indian cricket team's victorious campaign at the 1983 Cricket World Cup held in England. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of the captain of the Indian cricket team, Kapil Dev. The Indian cricket team played against West Indies in the World Cup finals and brought the trophy home.
Actor Deepika Padukone also features in the film as Kapil Dev's wife, and she is also co-producing the film. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Madhu Mantena and Reliance Entertainment. Besides Ranveer Singh, the cast also includes actors such as Tahir Raj Bhasin, Boman Irani, Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, and Sacred Games star Jatin Sarna. Pritam has come on board as the music director for the film, which will hit theatres on April 10, 2020.
