Rahane blessed with a baby girl
Rahane was blessed with a baby girl on Saturday, October 5, while the 31-year-old cricketer was in Visakhapatnam for the ongoing test series between India and South Africa. Since then, Rahane has been congratulated by many Indian cricketers. Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the top-notch middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane for his newborn with a hilarious tweet. Terming the joy of having a child 'unparalleled', he also asked the test vice-captain to brace himself for 'New role of a night watchman'.
Former cricketer and one of India's best spinners Harbhajan Singh also penned his heartiest congratulation as he wished the new parents. Singh took to Twitter and said the 'fun part of life starts now ajju (Ajinkya)'.
Confident Rahane
India registered a convincing victory over South Africa in the first Test match of the series by 203 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Before the start of the match, Ajinkya Rahane expressed confidence in the team, saying that their ‘preparation has been really good.’ Rahane said, “As a batting unit, you have to adapt to all the conditions and you got to prepare yourself really well before the series starts. Our preparation has been really good. We had a really good practice session today and one more day tomorrow going into the match,” in a pre-match press conference. Rahane will look to carry the confidence forward in the second Test match too as India will look to win the series.
