In a bid to thank the Muslim Community for maintaining peace and harmony after the Supreme Court’s historic verdict on the Ayodhya Land Dispute, BJP brass has decided to organise meetings with community leaders. As per a senior party member, Senior BJP leaders and ministers have been asked to reach out to the community leaders. It is also reported that UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath is also expected to meet the Muslim community leaders. Adityanath had earlier said the Supreme Court's decision has endorsed the resolution of 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat'. The decision, he said, has been given without any discrimination of class or religion and the way people have accepted it is praiseworthy.

The BJP and RSS have been constantly assuring people that this decision is sending out a message of taking everyone along.  PM Modi in his speech on Saturday, November 9, urged devotees from the two communities to strengthen the spirit of Rashtra bhakti. Earlier on November 5, the BJP and RSS had chaired a meeting with the community's clerics, academics and prominent persons was organised, stressing on maintaining social harmony and unity.

Supreme Court's Ayodhya verdict

Pronouncing the landmark judgment in the Ayodhya dispute case, the Supreme Court on Saturday, November 9, delivered a unanimous judgment in the title suit of the disputed area awarding it to the Hindu parties for the construction of a temple. It also directed the Centre to come up with a scheme within three months to set up a trust which will hand over the outer courtyard and inner courtyard of the site for construction of a temple. Apart from this, the SC stated that an alternate land of 5 acres is to be allotted to Muslims for the liberty of constructing a mosque, either by the Centre or the State, in a suitable and prominent place in Ayodhya. CJI Ranjan Gogoi, while delivering the unanimous judgment, dismissed the claims of the Sunni Central Waqf Board and the Nirmohi Akhara. He also termed that the three-way division of the disputed land by the Allahabad HC in its 2010 verdict is wrong.
