Indian film actor and politician, Shatrughan Sinha, while reacting to AAP President Arvind Kejriwal’s decision of bringing the ‘Odd-Even’ rule back to Delhi, expressed happiness in his tweet saying that “the leader of masses” has brought it back.

'Odd-Even' to come back

Arvind Kejriwal had, on Friday, said that the odd-even vehicle rule is all set to return to the national capital from November 4 to November 15, while also adding that the move is expected to reduce pollution in the area by 13-15%. In addition to that, he had also talked about a seven-point action plan that the AAP government has come up with after they received a lot of suggestions about pollution control from the public.

Seven point action plan

The plan includes procuring masks for the public on a massive scale which will be made available to the public, free of cost. Furthermore, he had said that they will try to make them available in October itself, so that people have them before November 1 when smoke levels start rising. He had also added that N95 category masks will be acquired for the purpose.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister had also mentioned that on the eve of Chhoti Diwali, the government will organize a laser show. He had urged the public to gather in huge numbers to enjoy the show rather than bursting crackers which will only add to the pollution in the city. On a related note, the Supreme Court has banned the sale of crackers in the national capital.

Besides this, the party chief had also said that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will also adopt mechanised sweeping and use water sprinklers to control dust. He had said that they want to achieve 100% mechanised sweeping in Delhi. Additionally, a massive plantation drive is also scheduled to be undertaken and a helpline number will also be released to ensure saplings are delivered to the people in their homes. Further, a war room will also be developed to address public grievances.

As a part of its seven-point action plan, the government has also identified 12 spots across the national capital, that witness high levels of pollution. According to Kejriwal, special attention would be paid to these areas and a separate plan will be made for them.
