Mikhail Bora, a prosecution witness in the Sheena Bora murder case deposed in Mumbai court on Monday. While testifying before the court, Mikhail said he was tortured at the hands of his mother Indrani Mukerjea, who wanted to prove that he was insane and used to take drugs. In his statement, Mikhail also said Indrani wanted no one to believe that she was his mother.
“I have not touched drugs till date. I realised later on that maybe Indrani wanted no one to believe me if I said she was my mother and wanted to prove I am insane,” said Mikhail in court.
Here’s Mikhail’s full sentence:
“Indrani took me to her office in Mumbai and introduced me as younger brother. She then said that she had got admission for me in a school in Bengaluru.
I was reluctant she said my flight was on the same day. I had no option to go to Guwahati so I went to Bengaluru. We stayed over that day at Indrani's friend's place in Koramangala. Next day, Indrani and I went to Bengaluru International school and met Anu Monga the principal.
There is a school hostel, Indrani came to drop me there. I studied there for half of my 11th standard. It was a very high profile hostel, I wasn't habituated to all that.
Indrani was paying the fees but the standard and style of living of students was very high and majority of them were foreigners and their life style and pocket money was very high I was getting nominal pocket money. So I called Indrani one day that instead of giving me less and keeping me in such a school she could admit me to a middle class school.
She became angry she said she only wanted the best for me. I told her my standards did not match with theirs. I told her to send me back to Guwahati. She told me to take a few days off and come to Mumbai to freshen my mind. I went to Mumbai.
Shyamvar Rai came to receive me at the airport. Indrani told me driver will come.
Driver told me some work was going on Marlowe so he took me to a hotel where room was booked.
I called Indrani she asked to stay there for the night and she will pick me up next day. Driver came next day and took me to Phoenix mall office of INX services.
She introduced me again to everyone. Sanjeev Khanna was also there and she introduced him as her client and me as her brother. After that, Indrani and I went for lunch to Bombay Blue - I remember the name because I had chole bhature there as we don't get it in Guwahati.
She gave me 1500 rupees and told me Sanjeev will come to take me to disco or some such place to enjoy.
I waited and then called Indrani to tell her no one had come to pick me up.
Indrani told me he must be busy so he didn't come and he will come next day. Next day I was in the hotel the whole day around 9 pm Sanjeev took me to the disco. He took whiskey there and he asked if I had ever had tequila. I told him I had never tried. After 2 shots I felt unconscious, I don't remember anything.”
Mikhail in his statement also alleged that Indrani tried to make people believe that he is insane:
"When I became conscious, I was in a closed room and my hands and legs were tied and my head was shaved. I was wearing some brown coloured clothes. I started screaming because I was in shock. 2-3 people who looked like ward boys came in. They hit me, gave me an injection and then left. I became unconscious again. After sometime I regained consciousnesses, ward boy came and freed my hands. 5-6 doctors came together, one was Yusuf Matcheswalla - he introduced himself. He told me my sister Indrani admitted me to Maseena hospital, I was admitted there on the grounds that I take drugs. He told me Indrani will come after 1.5 months and then we will decide. I was tortured for 1 month and confined to a room and was asked to have food with mental patients. I was given electric shocks and injections and I was kept tied and cannot express in open court the other things they did to me. I have not touched drugs till date. I realised later on that maybe Indrani wanted no one to believe me if I said she was my mother and wanted to prove I am insane."
