Siddaramaiah claims DK Shivakumar will come out clean, attacks BJP
Former Karnataka CM and Congress leader Siddaramaiah targeted the BJP and said that DK Shivakumar is being a victim of the saffron party's "vindictive politics"
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday evening arrested senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar after four days of questioning in connection with a money-laundering case. Taking to Twitter, senior Congress leader and former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah targeted the BJP party and said that DK Shivakumar is being a victim of the saffron party's "vindictive politics". In a series of tweets, he added that the Opposition leaders are being targeted by government agencies, adding that it is an "attempt to divert the attention of the citizens from BJP government's failures".
Extending support to DK Shivakumar following his arrest, Siddaramaiah added that the Congress leader "will definitely come out clean". Siddaramaiah further stated that the Congress party is with DK Shivakumar in the difficult times and will provide full support to him.

Shortly after his arrest by the ED, DK Shivakumar took to Twitter and cried foul, congratulating BJP over their "successful mission of arresting". In a series of tweet, the sitting MLA claimed that the IT and ED cases against him are "politically motivated" and called himself a victim of BJP's "political vendetta and vengeance". He further appealed his party cadre and supports to not be dishearted, assuring them that he had done "nothing illegal". Shivakumar asserted that he had full faith in the country' judiciary, expressing confidence over emerging victorious against the vendetta politics.
Congress extends full support
Responding to the Congress leader's arrest, the Grand Old Party took to Twitter and condemned the actions taken by the ED. Calling it "vendetta politics", Congress party claimed that the actions taken by the probe agency are yet another "attempt by the government to distract the public from the state of the economy".
