SIT recovers pen drive containing obscene videos of Chinmayanand
The SITÂ conducting its investigation into the alleged rape case against Chinmayanad has recovered a pen drive full of obscene videos from a local BJP leader
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has uncovered more evidence in the alleged sexual assault case against former Union minister Swami Chinmayanand. The SIT has recovered a pen drive full of obscene videos of Swami Chinmayanand from a local BJP leader. Currently, the SIT is working towards uncovering more details and finding out all those who are said to be involved.
The purpose of digging the drains was to look for a spy camera
The SIT had previously dug the drain outside the college to search for evidence in the rape case. The purpose of digging the drains was to look for a spy camera fitted spectacle through which a sting video was made of Chinmayanand by the complainant who is a law student. The student had thrown off the spectacle in the drains. Chinmayanand has been booked under section 376C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which is usually applied in cases where a person abuses his position to "induce or seduce" a woman under his charge to have "sexual intercourse not amounting to the offence of rape".
Chimayanand's counsel has previously denied all allegations
Recounting her ordeal, she said that after she took admission in LLM, Chinmayanand's men called her to his home and left her in a room on the upper floor where the former Minister showed her a video of her showering, after which her physical exploitation began. The woman, however, said that this video was not found by the probe agency in the bedroom and claimed that it could have been kept in Chinmayanand's Haridwar ashram. Chinmayanand's Counsel Om Singh denied all allegations and argued that giving a massage is not criminal, and that's the whole reason behind spas existing. "Besides, the video does not show anything being done under pressure," Om Singh said. The woman has alleged that she was raped and physically "exploited" for a year by the former Union Minister. The woman first levelled harassment charges against the BJP leader in a video clip uploaded on social media. Meanwhile, the woman from Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur who accused former Union Minister and leader Chinmayanand of raping her was sent to 14-days judicial custody on September 25 for allegedly extorting money.
