Rescue operations for a boy who fell into a borewell in Tamil Nadu have been underway for 14 hours. According to sources, an NDRF team of 40 members from Chennai have started to aid the rescue operations. The two-year-old boy, identified as Sujith Wilson, fell into a 25-feet deep borewell in Nadukattupati, Tiruchirappalli district on Friday. Rescue teams rushed to the spot after receiving information and created a tunnel to reach Sujith. As per sources, Sujith has slipped deeper into the borewell to around the 70 feet mark during the rescue.
The incident came to light when the boy's parents Britto Arogiyaraj and Kalairani found the toddler missing, and came out of the house searching for him.

The medical team has been providing the infant with an oxygen supply outside the borewell. Rescue operations are underway at the site. According to reports, Health Minister Vijayabaakar, Tourism Minister Natarajan and SP Ziaul Haq are looking into the matter and were also at the spot overseeing rescue operation. Sources reveal, the borewell is 600 ft deep and the boy was initially stuck around the 30-feet mark before he slipped further.
