Rescue operations for a boy who fell into a borewell in Tamil Nadu have been underway for 14 hours. According to sources, an NDRF team of 40 members from Chennai have started to aid the rescue operations. The two-year-old boy, identified as Sujith Wilson, fell into a 25-feet deep borewell in Nadukattupati, Tiruchirappalli district on Friday. Rescue teams rushed to the spot after receiving information and created a tunnel to reach Sujith. As per sources, Sujith has slipped deeper into the borewell to around the 70 feet mark during the rescue.

The incident came to light when the boy's parents Britto Arogiyaraj and Kalairani found the toddler missing, and came out of the house searching for him.

Save Sujith trends on social media

Since the incident came to light, #save Sujit started trending on social media. While some were concerned about the little boy, others are criticising the authorities for the delay in rescuing the boy.
