BSP chief Mayawati on Thursday held a news briefing and attacked those who raised questions over the induction of her family members into her party BSP and the conversations around her nephew Akash Anand wearing expensive Gucci shoes.

The guesswork of her nephew being the probable successor of Mayawati as the BSP chief began after he was spotted accompanying Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati's crucial alliance meetings.

Mayawati received criticism over the conjectures of nepotism, speculation that her nephew will be joining her party. However, the attention was inclined more towards his pricey Gucci footwear.

She also said that the media is hand in gloves with her rivals and talks about her nephew shoes, "as though they bought it for him"

After doing some digging, Republic managed to get the details of red fur Gucci loafers that may have been the one that Anand was donning. Republic found out at the fancy shoes, which appear to be similar to the ones worn by Mayawati’s nephew, are priced at $940 that is approximately Rs. 66,823.

A fuming Mayawati told reporters, "Instead of fighting us fairly, they are making absurd remarks against us and conspiring with the help of some casteist and anti-Dalit TV channels. I will make Akash join the BSP movement and give him a chance to learn”.

Twitter was quick to notice, immediately making the Gucci shoes the hero of the family photo.
