The dastardly terror attack that claimed the lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans in Pulwama is not something that the nation would forget in a long time. The anger at the death of the martyrs had sparked protests and tribute marches all over the nation. Several celebrities from the film industry, too, had expressed their grief over the tragedy and many even pledged donations for the welfare of the families of the soldiers. Now, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor have joined hands with the CRPF for a tribute song dedicated to the martyrs, ‘Tu Desh Hai Mera.’
The official Twitter handle of the CRPF tweeted pictures from the shoot of the video with the actors, all dressed in white, and praised them for their ‘Commendable work'. The handle added, “We would like to thank you all for showing your support towards the Martyrs.”
It is not clear yet if the actors have lent their voice for the song, or lip-synced. The handle also tagged Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan in the post, so it’s possible that even they might shoot for it soon.
Big B, who had pledged a donation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the martyrs, had recently given his voice for a special video of completion of 50 years of the Central Industrial Security Force and also for Mumbai Police’s Quick Response Team.
Lata Mangeshkar, too, had recorded in her voice a poem that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recited in honour of the jawans.
40 CRPF personnel lost their lives in an attack carried out by Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. A convoy of 78 buses, in which around 2,500 CRPF personnel were travelling from Jammu to Srinagar, came under attack at Ladhu Modi Lethpora on February 14.
