Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu while addressing the Indian diaspora of Azerbaijan on Thursday said that any attempts to disrupt peace and interference in India's internal matters will not be entertained. The Vice President added that India wants to maintain cordial relations with all the countries including its immediate neighbours adding that peace remains an indispensable element for progress in the relations.
'Philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'
"India always believes in its age-old philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' or that the whole world is one family and endeavours to maintain cordial relations with all countries, including all its immediate neighbours," Naidu declared while addressing the Indian diaspora of Azerbaijan. "However, any attempt to disrupt peace and interference with our country's internal matters will not be tolerated. Peace is a prerequisite for progress, and we cannot allow anyone to derail the journey towards peace and prosperity," he added.
'Respecting cultural diversity'
Taking to Twitter, the Vice President also emphasized on the ancient cultural connections between India and Azerbaijan. “India has ancient cultural connections with this country. Respecting cultural diversity is enshrined in the social values of both our countries. The famous 'Ateshgah' fire temple here is living proof of mutual cultural exchange between our two countries,” Naidu tweeted.
#Culture #Baku #Azerbaijan pic.twitter.com/3Y3GKAMOtc

'Scope for an increase in bilateral trade'
In another tweet, Naidu mentioned the scope of bilateral trade that can be facilitated between the two countries. “Our bilateral trade level is less than the available possibilities. Today, when the Azerbaijan economy is expanding in fields other than oil, there is ample scope for Indian companies in sectors like information technology, pharma, renewable energy and food processing, he tweeted.
#Baku pic.twitter.com/URZNNI2B3F

Apprised on the developments in J&K
While addressing the community, Naidu gave a detailed account of the recent developments that have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of article 370 and also explained the idea behind the abrogation. "It is a step to extend to the people of the state all the benefits being enjoyed by the other Indian citizens. It is a step that was supported by an overwhelming majority in Parliament. It is a step towards development," Naidu said. He also insisted the Indian diaspora to understand the motive behind the abrogation and note the issue in correct perspective by disregarding the distorted versions by a certain section of the media.
