A village development officer has been arrested in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs. 600, an official of the state's anti-corruption bureau said.
The accused Hansraj Bairwa, posted in Badla panchayat samiti in Kotdi of Bhilwara, had demanded Rs 1,000 as bribe from one Mukesh Solanki for registry of the ownership document of his father's ancestral property, the official said.
Bairwa had taken Rs 400 at the time of verification of the complaint on Monday and was caught while taking the remaining amount on Wednesday, he said, adding the officer has been arrested and booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
