Amidst the dire situation in Assam on account of the floods that have hit the state and submerged a vast portion of the iconic Kaziranga national park, animals from the park have been facing very difficult circumstances. Even so, a ray of hope emerged as field staff from the national park are doing their best to rescue the distressed animals.

In a video that was posted on social media, the staff from Kaziranga can be seen taking relentless efforts to save and rescue a Rhino calf. The video was tweeted out by Indian forester Sudha Ramen where she said that not only Rhinos, but Hog Deers and Elephant calves were also being tended to, as the deluge has gripped the North-Eastern State. Here's a video of the staff taking up a challenging task to rescue the scared Rhino calf:

Multiple rescuers were seen flanking the calf from both sides. The struggle was real since the calf was clearly quite afraid of the men trying to rescue it. The staff was seen tying ropes around the little Rhino's body in a bid to get it onboard their boats. Looking at the video, Netizens were convinced that 'Not all heroes wear capes', but some heroes arrive in small wooden dhingys to do their part and contribute for the greater good. As per media reports, about 95% of the Kaziranga National Park is under the water. Rhino habitats in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary and Manas National Park have also been inundated with floodwaters. Twenty-three wild animals have reportedly died owing to the floods.
