WATCH: Meerut BJP Councilor thrashes UP sub-inspector after heated argument in a restaurant

In a shocking turn of events, BJP Councilor from Meerut, Manish Chaudhary has been arrested for fiercely thrashing a Sub-Inspector at his restaurant located on the Meerut Dehradun bypass, after a provoking video of him beating the police officer surfaced on the social media, on Friday. In the video, Manish Chaudhary could seen beating and abusing the police inspector in front of several other people present at the restaurant. 

According to sources, the police sub-inspector, along with his female lawyer friend, had come to the restaurant owned by the BJP Councilor. There, the two allegedly got engaged in an abusive argument with the waiter over the delay in serving the food. Incidentally, when the arguments intensified, the BJP Councillor intervened and attacked the police officer in retaliation.

In the video, the BJP councilor is continuously slapping the police officer while his lady friend is throwing off the cutlery placed on the table. Later, while the police officer was getting slapped by Manish, his lady friend in the saree was being thrown out of the restaurant by one of the men present during the shocking incident. Apparently, it has also been reported that both the police officer and his lady friend were drunk when they argued with the waiter over the delay in the food. 

Uttar Pradesh police has arrested BJP Councilor Manish Chaudhary for allegedly thrashing the officer. Moreover, the sub-inspector and his lady friend have also been taken into custody by the officials. A detailed probe is being carried by the police into the matter. 

A case has been registered against Manish from Meerut's ward no. 40, under section 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.
