A video of a monkey driving a public vehicle has gone viral on the internet. In the video, a Karnataka bus driver can be seen smiling and patting a Grey langur as it sits on top of the steering.

A man driving animals in a vehicle is something we are all accustomed to seeing, but, what if things go the other way round? In an incident recorded in Karnataka, a monkey was seen driving a public vehicle. As per media reports, the bus driver, named M Prakash allowed a monkey to sit on the steering wheel of his vehicle and also steer it. In the video shot by a passenger, the 36-year-old driver can be seen smiling and patting a Grey langur as it sits on top of the steering wheel of the moving bus. The video has gone viral on the internet, as the netizens are amused to see the monkey driving a bus which had about 30 passengers seated in it.

However, the video has also sparked outrage among the daily commuters who questioned the irresponsible behaviour of the bus driver for compromising on the lives of the passengers. In fact, the bus diver was suspended on Saturday, September 6, after a video of the incident flared on the internet. As per media reports, a spokesperson for the government's road transport corporation in the southern Karnataka state confirmed in a statement that Driver M Prakash has been taken off duty for allowing the monkey to sit on the steering wheel and handle it. The incident that reportedly took place on Monday came to the knowledge of the authorities after it gained huge social media attention, following which he was suspended, the spokesperson stated. The authorities further stated that its the driver's duty to ensure the safety of the passengers, and he, in no condition can risk the same by allowing a monkey to steer the wheel.

Reportedly, there were around 30 passengers on the bus at the time, and fortunately, none of them were harmed following the incident. In fact, as per media reports, several passengers offered prayers to the Monkey God - Hanuman - for the Grey Langur to deliver the bus passengers safely.
