"You will always be my hero," writes Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on death anniversary of former PM Rajiv Gandhi

Congress party's general secretary Priyanka Gandhi paid tribute to former Prime Minister and her father Rajiv Gandhi on his 28th death anniversary on Tuesday. Taking to Twitter, Priyanka Gandhi posted an old picture of her father, along with a poem by renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Congress party's general secretary Priyanka Gandhi paid tribute to former Prime Minister and her father Rajiv Gandhi on his 28th death anniversary on Tuesday. Taking to Twitter, Priyanka Gandhi posted an old picture of hers with her father, along with a poem by renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

In her Twitter post for her father on his death anniversary, she wrote, "You will always be my hero".

Earlier in the day, Priyanka Gandhi, along with Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary at his memorial, Veer Bhumi, in Delhi.

Besides the Gandhi family, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former president Pranab Mukherjee, among other senior party leaders, were also present at Veer Bhumi.

Former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by an LTTE suicide bomber during an election rally at Sriperumpudur near Tamil Nadu on May 21, 1991.
