Youth Congress workers stage demonstrations urging Rahul Gandhi to reconsider resignation
The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers held a demonstration right outside the residence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi urging him to reconsidert his resignation and continue as the party President.

Talking to the media a Youth Congress leader and MLA from Hindoli, Rajasthan Ashok Chandana said:
"Winning or losing elections is part and parcel of politics. Rahul Gandhi has fought with sincerity and challenged the money power and propagandist policies of the ruling dispensation,"
Chandana also tweeted and said:
"You have open the doors of politics to the youth of ordinary families of the country, we need you."
In addition, Chandana also cited an example from the epic Mahabharata and referred to Home Minister Amit Shah as 'Shakuni',
"At the time of Mahabharata, Shakuni had by devious intent sent Dharmaraj Yudhishthira into exile. But this doesn't mean that Shakuni and Duryodhana were right. Dharmaraj Yudhishthira made a comeback to Indraprastha after the war. Shakuni is Amit Shah. The BJP should learn from Mahabharata," he added.
Meanwhile, a hashtag #MyLeaderRahulGandhi was trending with several IYC workers and supporters urging the leader to continue as the Congress President. Here's a tweet from the official twitter handle of IYC:
Likewise, the Congress Party's counterparts from other states too appealed Rahul Gandhi to continue as the party President. The Kerala Pradesh Mahila Congress said that Rahul Gandhi was a broad-minded and compassionate leader. Here's what the tweet says:
Disruptions within the Congress Party have risen after Rahul Gandhi offered to step down as the Congress President. However, in a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on May 25 after he took moral responsibility for the defeat in the polls. But the decision was unanimously rejected by the CWC which ordered him to do a complete overhaul and restructure the party at every level. Rahul Gandhi who won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, but lost to BJP's Smriti Irani from Amethi parliamentary constituency which was considered a stronghold of the party.
