As the Supreme Court takes strict action on the Unnao Rape Case, the BJP expelled its accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar from the party. Two years after Unnao rape case and days after the accident on the victim that killed her two aunts and put her lawyer and herself in critical condition, BJP has expelled the accused MLA Kuldeep Sengar.

Earlier BJP spokesperson had said that he was suspended after the case came against him but did not release a press note on the same. Additionally, the three security guards of the victim has also been suspended on charges that they did not adhere to their security duties. Sengar is a four-time MLA from UP's Bangermau, and is accused of raping the woman, and he was arrested last year in April.

Speaking on the development, BJP MP Hema Malini said that it is a welcoming step and UP State women commission chief said that the victim's mother is happy with CJI's steps. She added that she met the family and Yogi govt will give every help to the victim. The Congress called it as victory of people's campaign against BJP.

Supreme Court's hearing on Thursday

As the case was being heard by CJI Ranjan Gogoi, major developments were noted including the transfer of all cases to New Delhi. The CJI also raised and questioned the custodial death of the father of the Unnao rape survivor. The CJI gave 7-days deadline to the investigative agency to complete the probe.

The top court asked if the Unnao victim can be airlifted from Lucknow hospital and ordered to form panel of doctors and to inform SC till 2 PM if she and her lawyer can be airlifted. The court also pulled up on why the Unnao victim mother's letter did not reach him to which he was answered that 5000 letters come to CJI's office everyday and hence the delay. CJI Ranjan Gogoi also asked as to who was accused after the custodial death of victim's father. It ordered the UP govt to give compensation to the victim.
