Reports state that the victim will continue to stay in Delhi as the family is apprehensive about returning to Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, a Delhi court had directed under the witness protection guidelines to arrange accommodation for the Unnao rape survivor and her family in Delhi. This direction came after the victim's mother requested to be allowed to live in Delhi due to threat to their lives.
