Amit Malviya took to Twitter to say that with the long arms of the law catching up with Sonia Gandhi supporters and Congress leaders, the politicians in the party have switched their gears when it came to PM Narendra Modi. Abhishek Manu Singhvi echoes Jairam Ramesh
Congress national spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi tweeted on Friday responding to Jairam Ramesh's praise to PM Modi.Singhvi agreed with Ramesh that demonising PN Narendra Modi will hurt the Opposition. He also praised PM Modi's Ujjwala scheme and called it a good deed. "Always said demonising Modi is wrong. Not only is he the PM of the nation, a one-way Opposition actually helps him. Acts are always good, bad and indifferent — they must be judged issue wise and not person wise. Certainly, the Ujjwala scheme is only one amongst other good deeds," he said
Jairam Ramesh's surprising praise for PM Modi
"He (PM Modi) talks in a language that connects him with the people. Unless we recognize that he is doing things which people recognise and which have not been done in the past, we are not going to be able to confront this guy," said the Congress leader said. "Also, if you are going to demonize him all the time, you are not going to be able to confront PM Modi," he added. Jairam Ramesh also said, "In 2019, all of us in the political discourse made fun of one or two of his programmes, but it has turned out in all electoral studies that the PMUJ is one single program which has been able to connect him with crores and crores of women and given him the political traction which he didn't have in 2014."
