BIG: BJP constitutes Parliamentary party Executive Committee, PM Modi at the helm in Lok Sabha and Dr. Thawarchand Gehlot Leader of House in Rajya Sabha
In a major administrative decision, the BJP has constituted its Parliamentary Party Executive Committee on Wednesday, with PM Narendra Modi as the leader of the party, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as Deputy leader of the party (Lok Sabha), Â Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot as leader of party (Rajya Sabha) and Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal as Deputy leader of party (Rajya Sabha)

In a major administrative decision, the BJP has constituted its Parliamentary Party Executive Committee on Wednesday, with PM Narendra Modi as the leader of the party, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as Deputy leader of the party (Lok Sabha), Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot as leader of party (Rajya Sabha) and Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal as Deputy leader of party (Rajya Sabha).
The list released by the Party also details the other posts of the executive committee:
- National president - Amit Shah
- Govt. Chief Whip - Pralhad Joshi
- Party Chief Whip (Lok Sabha) - Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal
- Party Chief Whip (Rajya Sabha) - Narayan Lal Panchariya
- Treasurer - Gopal Shetty
- BJP parliamentary party office in-charge - Kailash Vijayvargiya
- Parliamentary party office secretary - Balasubrahmanyam Kamarsu
The list goes on to declare the posts of the secretaries, whips and the special invitees in the lower and the upper parliamentary houses.

BIG: BJP MP Dr Virendra Kumar To Be The Protem Speaker Of The 17th Lok Sabha
Earlier on Tuesday, BJP MP Dr.Virendra Kumar was announced to be the next Protem Speaker of the newly elected 17th Lok Sabha.
Previously a day after the swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi and his Council of ministers, where the ranks of the new inductees - whether they are Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State (Independent Charge) and Ministers of State - was announced, the portfolios of the cabinet ministers were announced.
Over 8,000 guests including VVIPs, attended the oath-taking ceremony of PM Modi and his council of Ministers held at the forecourt - the stately path between the main gates and the main building - in the Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 30.
World leaders, namely - President of Bangladesh - Md. Abdul Hamid, President of Sri Lanka - Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Kyrgyz Republic - Sooronbay Jeenbekov, President of Myanmar - U Win Myint, Prime Minister of Mauritius - Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Nepal - K.P. Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Bhutan - Dr. Lotay Tshering and Special Envoy of Thailand - Mr. Grisada Boonrach were present for the oath-taking.
