The Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari has written to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the power crisis and water shortages in the national capital. The letter dated June 11, Monday, Tiwari has urged the Delhi government to ensure water supply to every household in the national capital.

As the temperature in Delhi touched 48 degrees, Tiwari has alleged that the government in Delhi does not have a summer action plan. he further said that the electricity demand in the city is 7000 MW mark and the government is unable to meet it.

The letter stated: "A large number of localities in South, North, Outer and East Delhi have already plunged into darkness and the city is staring at further power crisis due to short supply from power generation units in different states. This assumes greater significance in the wake of the fact that Delhi is completely dependent on other states for its power requirements."

Alleging that the government has failed in fulfilling the water needs of the people, Tiwari's letter claimed that women are forced to stand in queues for 7-8 hours every day to fill their buckets from water tankers. It also claimed that polluted water is aggravating the woes and posing a grave health hazard to the public at large.  In his claim, he said that as many as 147 unauthorized colonies in Delhi are not getting water supply in the absence of water pipelines and are depending on water tankers.

In the letter, Tiwari has urged: "If at all your government is serious about women safety, I urge you to take immediate steps to ensure water supply to every household."

Here is BJP chief Manoj Tiwari's letter:

Earlier, Tiwari had criticised Delhi CM on his step to make metro and bus rides free for women in Delhi.

"People must understand the lies of Arvind Kejriwal and should not come under the effect of his words. He has not done anything in five years, what will he do in 3 months. He has not allowed the implementation of Ayushman Bharat. I demand and request him that in your last months of rule implement Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana," the Delhi BJP chief had said in a press briefing.
