Howdy Modi: Milind Deora slams 'insinuations' after his praise for PM

Hours after Congress leader Milind Deora heaped praises to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his Houston speech, he has issued a rejoinder for those criticising him and speculating a political message for his praises. Slamming those criticising him, Deora in his letter has written that he will remain bipartisan on issues of national interest and foreign policy. "I will serve my country to the best of my ability and I will remain bipartisan when it comes to issues of national interest and foreign policy. The experience and relationships that I have inherited and nurtured have little meaning if they cannot be leveraged for India."
Milind Deora on September 23, took to Twitter to praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's soft-power diplomacy and reminisced that his father Late Murli Deora was among the 'early architects of deeper Indo-US ties'. Responding to him, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about Late Murli Deora's crucial contribution towards the Indo-US ties. Milind Deora in his letter said that he has inherited a legacy of Indo-US relationship from his father. Explaining his father's contribution, Milind said ''My family's relationships with institutions, political parties, and leaders in the US were built over five decades keeping India's best interest in mind. I am proud to say that Murlibhai's efforts and relationships helped strengthen India's national interest."
Posting his letter on Twitter, Milind wrote he said, "While I appreciate the kind words expressed by Murlibhaiās friends and well-wishers, I express regret on the insinuations and unwarranted criticism in sections of media and social media." He added that he is like his father whose bedrock in politics was friendship. He said that he would not compromise on his core belief in politics. He also added that politics is uncharitable and partisan. "I will not compromise my core beliefs even though politics continues to become increasingly uncharitable and partisan," he added.
