Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, on Thursday, was among the many leaders who paid tribute to the former PM Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary
Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, on Thursday, paid tribute to the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary. The Chief Minister in a tweet remembered the former Prime Minister's contributions during the 1971 war.

Rahul Gandhi and Congress remember Indira Gandhi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is also the grandson of Indira Gandhi also remembered her on her Death Anniversary. The Congress leader said he has learnt from Indira Gandhi's fearless decisions and she guides him at every step in life.
Earlier, Interim President of Congress Sonia Gandhi and former PM Manmohan Singh paid tributes to Indira Gandhi at Shakti Sthal. Former Chief Minister of Haryana BS Hooda also paid tribute to the former PM. Former Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari also paid tribute to Indira Gandhi. Later, Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Former Vice-President Mohammad Hamid attended the Ceremony of Remembrance at Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. Indira Gandhi served as the Prime Minister of the country from 1966 to 1977 and again from 1980 until her assassination in October 1984. Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her bodyguards at her residence.
Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah pay homage to Indira Gandhi
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to Indira Gandhi on Twitter. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to the former Prime Minister while flagging off the 'Run For Unity' marathon at Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi. "Today, we pay tributes to former PM Indira Gandhi," he said. Delhi Congress chief Subhash Chopra and chairman of the Delhi Congress campaign committee Kirti Azad also paid tributes to the leader.
